For builders

What does the free study give me?

An estimate of the tax value of cost segregation and the other studies that fit your projects, with every assumption labeled. It needs no account and no card.

What do I pay for?

One fixed fee per study, set by scope (how many properties, how big, which studies). You see it before you start and again before you pay. It never depends on how much tax you save.

Who reviews my study?

A credentialed CPA reviews every paid study before its documents become FINAL. Large buildings also get a qualified engineer's review with site documentation.

Why do my documents say "Ready for your CPA's review"?

Every document reads that until your CPA signs off and we release it. Do not file it before then. You will get an email when your documents are final.

Is this tax advice?

No. Our studies are research and workpapers for your CPA, who decides every position on your return and files it.

What happens to the files I upload?

We read them on our servers to pull out the figures, keep the figures and the file name, and do not keep the original file. Prior-year tax returns need a separate consent first.

Can I get a refund?

Yes before our review starts, partly during review, and not after the documents are released. A refund never depends on what the IRS decides. See the refund policy.

How do I give my CPA the documents?

Download them from your study page and send them, or connect your CPA firm to your company on the Team page so the firm can open the study.

Can your support team see my studies?

Only if an owner of your company turns on support access (Account, Support access), for the days you choose. Every view is logged and you can end it at any time.

For CPA firms

How do I invite a client?

From your client dashboard, invite the client by email. We set up an empty free study for them; you see their studies while the connection is active.

What is in the CPA packet?

A summary of every study with its review stage and sign-offs, asset schedules, a Lacerte/ProConnect fixed-asset import file, Form 4562 and 3115 data sheets, and the audit binder with the review log.

Who signs the study?

Our CPA reviewer signs the review and releases the study; an engineer signs the engineering review where required. The same person cannot sign both. Your firm prepares and signs the return.

Can I reproduce the released numbers later?

Yes. Every release stores its exact inputs and the data and code versions, so the released figures can be recomputed and compared with current law.

Is the fee contingent?

No. Fees are fixed by scope and never depend on savings or on an IRS result, consistent with Circular 230 section 10.27.

How is client information protected?

Your firm sees a client's studies only while the client relationship is active. Tax information is used only to prepare the studies unless the client signs a separate 7216 consent. See the security summary.

Can we pay for several clients at once?

Yes. A firm owner can pay for studies of several clients in one order; the firm discount counts distinct client companies.
