Refund policy

Fixed fees, when you can get money back, and why a refund never depends on a tax outcome.

Fixed fees

Every study has one fixed fee set by its scope (how many properties, how big, which studies). The fee never depends on how much tax you save.

When you can get a refund

Before our review starts: a full refund.

After review starts and before the documents are released as FINAL: a partial refund of 50% of the fee for that study, because review work has been done.

After the documents are released as FINAL: no refund, unless we made an error we cannot fix. If we made an error, we correct the study at no charge first.

What a refund never depends on

We do not refund, reduce or raise any fee because of what the IRS, a state or your CPA decides, or because the tax savings are smaller than estimated. That keeps our fees fixed and not contingent on a tax result (Circular 230 section 10.27).

What happens after a refund

The refunded studies are locked again and their documents can no longer be downloaded. You get a credit note by email and in your account. Money returns to your card in 5 to 10 business days.

Card disputes

If you dispute a charge with your bank, downloads for that order pause until the dispute closes. Please contact us first; we answer within one business day.
